If you want all of the warmth, detail, and class of the V40SE or V70SE models from Octave, but with even more accuracy, space, openness, and dimensionality, the V70 Class-A is your next step to audio nirvana.  This current line of amplifiers from Octave Audio will be future classics, and the V70 Class-A performs like nothing we have ever heard.  The amplifier features the most silent "absolute blackest black" acoustic foundation for any music, from any amp we have tested.  Where the other Octave amps deliver clean immersive music in spades, the V70 Class-A model can takes your listening experience to incredible new heights.  And coupled with Octave's Black Box or Super Black Box technology, the amp can handle 2 ohm loads with aplomb.  

The base model Class-A amp comes with four hand-matched S4-A KT88 Carbon Plate High Bias tubes, outputting 50 watts per channel in an "Class A Pentode" configuration into 8 ohms.   Octave's proprietary Dynamic Bias Control allows these four tubes to provide either Class A or Class AB power delivery on demand, seamlessly for 4-16 ohm loads without user intervention.  Features you'd expect to see in the highest class of solid state amplification are now available with tube power thanks to Octave.  

Like all Octave amps, the V70 Class-A has one of the highest S/N ratios we have ever seen, at 100dB at 50 watts per channel, and just a hair under that at full power. That is simply amazing!

The V70 chassis and aesthetics are borrowed from the V70SE and bigger cousin, V80SE. The centered LED selector screen provides a simple road map into the unit's operation, but nothing more. This amp looks like it means business because it does.

The V70 Class-A also features 4 line level RCA inputs, 1 balanced input, one tape-loop output, and one set of pre-out/main-in connectors. An optional Phono input is available (replacing "Aux/Line-2")
